The (shine your shoes) Guv'nor was first produced in 1988 with the goal to produce an effects pedal that could replicate the overdriven sound of the Marshall Plexi and JCM800 amps.
Apparently Gary Moore even used this on the entire Still Got the Blues album! So it must be a great pedal. Who wants to disagree with Gary? We sure wouldn't...
